The year 2020 was filled with challenges that forced the world to adapt to a new reality. Chongo Productions was no exception; in fact, that year, we managed to record several songs through collaborations with renowned artists who continue to elevate the salsa genre every day.

One such accomplishment was the recording of the track "Qué nos pasó", written by Venezuelan songwriter Ángel Vallenilla and performed by the talented Peruvian sensation Kate Candela, accompanied by Rumberos del Callejón. The track was produced by Carlitos Padrón with arrangements by Puerto Rican Ramón Sánchez, known for his work with legendary artists like Jerry Rivera, Frankie Ruiz, and Tito Nieves, among others.

Kate Candela’s early career traces back to her time as a vocalist for the all-female orchestra Son Tentación, whose success paved the way for her to launch a solo career and collaborate with prominent artists in this genre worldwide.

One such collaboration is "Qué nos pasó", a romantic salsa recorded at the Chongo Productions studios in New York City. The production brought together top-tier musicians who infused their talent into every melody of this composition.
